Our topic of the week was the effects our spanking interest has on the vanilla side of our lives. Here are your thoughts.

On Her Knee: There are small things such as not being able to walk through a hardware store or kitchen 'implement' aisle without having a whole new perspective on the merchandise. Perhaps the most obvious is trying to hide reactions to ANY spanking-related keyword that is overheard.

Another big difference now is how I look at other people. I've seen surveys that suggest that as much as 40% of the adult US population may engage in some sort of 'spanking related' activity. I wonder how many of the people with whom I interact are kindred spirits.

Sara: I think my interest in spanking has indeed effected my vanilla life. First, it led us to domestic discipline, which is different than generic spanking, and that has effected our whole marriage and family. Spanking has also made me more aware of male-female dynamics in general and specifically the dynamics of dominance and submission. It is everywhere around us and has effected my understanding of what makes men and women tick. I see things I never noticed before in the couples around me. Even with people at work, I feel it has made me more aware of our interactions and the power dynamics that exist.

Spank-A-Lot: Being in Singapore, even for me, spankings are largely kept under wraps. It does affect my vanilla life though. Sometimes, Freudian slips can be uncomfortable. I get weird looks from vanilla friends when I even mention the word spanking.

Tina: I think there is kind of an indirect effect which I find negative. I am generally a very open person. Keeping my spanking mojo and masochism secret is very hard for me. It has the effect that I try to avoid talking about all private things in order to avoid these things slipping my tongue.

Janet: Spanking affects our vanilla lifestyle in many ways. I completely agree with On Her Knee. The cooking utensil and bath aisles will NEVER look the same. All I see now are implements! Shopping has become quite interesting. We always seem to enter new stores looking for what could be used in our spanking side of life.

Then there's the relationship side. I never dreamed that spanking could lead to such openness, such intense conversations and such incredible love. It has also made us both look much deeper into ourselves and at our strengths and weaknesses.

I find myself looking at some people and thinking, "She needs a good spanking!" I also see friends who don't have strong marriages and I wish I could share with them the secret we all know in this blogosphere. A DD relationship can not only save a marriage, it makes the marriage stronger then ever.

I have learned more about myself and my husband in the two years that we have lived a DD life than I did in the previous 27 years. My friends and family comment that we have never seemed so happy. And we are!

Dana: I have found that I have a respect for other people in my vanilla life that I didn't have before being a spanked husband. Being disciplined regularly helps me to reset my clock and be a better person all around. And yes, many times when I encounter people and see bad behavior, I think how much they might benefit from a good spanking, both men and women. Also, the day after, when my bottom is still burning, I wonder whether anyone else has a bottom as sore as mine.

Make Mine Red: As others noticed, shopping is a whole new experience. I even found an implement in the school supply aisle in the form of a flexible ruler, quite by accident. I wasn't looking for that in particular, it just jumped out at me when I saw it, Boy, does it sting! At 97 cents, it was a great find. I also found lipstick named "make me pink" and "warm me up." As it turns out, I really like both colors, so they are now regulars for me. I wouldn't have noticed any of those things before.

Daisy: It has changed me because I am now accountable to someone, which checks me ,yet frees me. It is wonderful, yet awful. Exciting, yet scary. I love it, yet hate it. I hope that makes things clear... LOL

Hermione: I find that I listen more and talk less. I am always on the lookout for spanking references, images, and ideas that I can use on the blog, so I am more vigilant.

On the other hand, I am very cautious about what I say. I am always aware that the openness I enjoy in the blogosphere cannot carry over into real life. Therefore, I think before I speak to avoid saying something that might give the game away.

At one time, I was rather notorious for saying outrageous things to make people laugh. I have put that habit aside, knowing that I would bitterly regret saying anything about spanking to friends and colleagues, despite the momentary burst of attention it might give me.

Dr. Ken: I find myself growing less patient with the vanilla world and those I perceive to be "vanilla." I can't wait to get back in touch and get together with spanking friends.

The fact that I so seldom have a spanking outlet makes me restless...

I may on occasion let slip a spanking reference in a vanilla conversation just to test the waters and see if I get any unexpected reactions from someone. But for the most part, I keep the vanilla side of things separate from my spanko life.

Anne: Like others, I find that I notice a lot more about the people around me. I wonder whether they are into TTWD. Sometimes, I look at girls and think they are "asking for it" (wearing pajamas to the office supply store, for example). I think it has added a level of fun for me, even in my vanilla world, because I think I've lightened up a bit.

A-Non: If I were in a real spanking/DD relationship (my 'dream' right now), I expect it would give me greater clarity and confidence in my vanilla life. I seek the security of knowing that someone at home is looking out for me, even when I am out doing my own thing (work, social, etc.). I like the boundaries. Without them, I tend to be a bit too open to do anything and a bit unfocused.

Prefectdt: Congratulations on 250 brunches.

Spanking effects my vanilla life in both positive and negative ways. Here are the two most prominent examples.

Positive - It brings a more balanced approach to my life and way of thinking and helps me to think through vanilla problems in a more effective way.

Negative - It takes a lot of my time and I often give a spanko appointment or commitment a higher priority than a vanilla one. Therefore, I miss some vanilla events that I would like to have attended.

Billy: Frankly, I would love it if my vanilla life shrunk and my spanko life just becomes my real life. My wife is taking over more and more, and my real discipline spankings are about to start. Also, we have made some real spanko friends, also wife-dominant, who I believe we may soon meet in person. Yes, my vanilla life is certainly being effected!

Bonnie: I think our lifestyle has caused me to be more open, more communicative, and more courageous in every aspect of my life. I open up to Randy because I have to. A paddling is very convincing. This experience has given me the strength (and the practice) to let me speak my mind in other contexts. I open up there because I want to.

Recap: MBS Sunday Brunch for Oct 24

Our topic this week was complementary interests, practices or fetishes. Here are your thoughts.

Luna: Oh yes, most definitely. Here are two we do to spice up a spanking.

1. Rope bondage. KM and I love a bit of rope in every part of our play. Even if it's just some simple handcuffs, he can control it and that makes spanking that much more fun. And it generally leads to other kinkiness.

2. Lingerie. I love wearing lingerie and KM loves to see me in it. When I know a fun spanking is coming, I'm likely to put on a cute pair of panties and a matching bra or some stockings (or all of it together). It gets his juices going. I like the bit of humiliation and exhibition factor of modeling for him and then his penchant for pulling the panties between my cheeks.

Our Bottoms Burn: Bacall always likes bondage with her paddling. It boosts her fantasy of being forced to take the paddling.

Gabby + Andrew: Andrew also likes to have me tied up sometimes. Handcuffs, Japanese love rope or plain old rope work for us.

We also enjoy roleplay and costume, like naughty schoolgirl and secretary, as well as the more realistic bad wife.

We've begun to explore group play related to spanking. Sometimes, I get spanked by multiple people or enjoy getting spanked one-on-one by someone who isn't Andrew (usually Kevin).

Serving B: We enjoy some bondage and leather on occasion. I receive most of my spankings with both of us naked. However, on occasion, B dresses up in leather gloves, boots, and corset and ties me down. That's a lovely dessert on top of being ruled by the woman I love.

Make Mine Red: I love lingerie and have lots of it, particularly pieces that showcase my behind. :) I also like my naughty schoolgirl outfit complete with ruffled panties. I KNOW what's coming when I put that on. LOL If I need to be more direct, I have a tank top that says "Spank Me" on it. We have some silk bondage ties that I like, but he isn't much into it. We're still working on that.

Pink: What arouses us most is spanking. But we are also a D/s couple, so we often add other elements like bondage and submission into our activities.

It isn't unusual for D to pull out the restraints to hold me in place, or make me kneel in front of him as greeting. In fact, that has been a rule set in place since our second meeting. Having never really been in a D/s relationship before, I can say that, while it isn't for everyone, it is an extremely satisfying outlet for my spanking desires!

We also do the lighter things such as roleplay, funishment spankings (the majority of what we do), and lots and lots of lingerie (for me, not him!). Rawr!

Keiter & Jean Marie: Yes to lingerie and being restrained. We don't expect a lot of consensus on this one, but every so often, we really enjoy anal sex after spanking.

Ms. Betty: You can count pc and I among those who enjoy bondage as well. I think it's a classic combination.

Perhaps less commonly, he also enjoys the rules and structure that come with being a schoolboy again. It isn't quite a roleplay – because he is himself, not a character – but he quite enjoys things like being kept after, writing lines, serving detention, etc.

I shouldn't actually say “enjoys.” These things are done for punishment, but after the fact he does tend to find them arousing.

Prefectdt: My amateur history investigations have led to the discovery of several scenarios for play scenes.

On Her Knee: I have one unique fetish that rears it's ugly head every once in a while. It really adds to the experience of having control taken away and makes me feel extraordinarily close to her. It's not something she particularly enjoys, but she does do it to accommodate my desires. For me, being given a spanking jumps to a new level when she includes the surprise of an enema.

D&S: Bondage and lingerie both seem to be popular, and we are firmly into both. We don't really like the super exotic lingerie. Everyday undies like most girls wear are really more exciting. D just loves to turn up my skirt to reveal bottom hugging but not too brief panties, with suspenders and stockings. He even quite likes tights. He says they hug my cheeks into two firm globes. His ideal target is my bent-over bare bottom, framed by suspenders, lifted skirt and lowered knickers. Nude spanking is not for us.

We don't go in for the complex bondage sometimes seen, but enough to hold me securely and reasonably comfortably in just the pose. D has very definite ideas as to how my bottom should be presented for its spanking, very tight and spread. The bonds hold me just as he wants, and also prevent me from reaching back when my rear end gets too hot! Soft cords or handcuffs do the job, but we have some webbing straps, secured by Velcro. They are easy to remove after the spanking is over, but nearly impossible for me to escape from on my own.

D made a trestle with a padded top for me to bend over. My wrists and ankles are tied to the legs. My big thrill is lying there as he turns up my skirt, wondering whether he is going to take my knickers down and paddle my tightly spread bare bottom, or leave them in place to spank their thin taut seat, which gives little protection. And dare I say it, after my spanking, I am perfectly placed for what comes next. A good seeing-to, whilst still firmly bound after a good spanking, is just bliss!

Hermione: Spanking is the only kinky activity we both find enjoyable, and it provides enough variety that we don't include other enhancements. So I'm afraid we are in the minority here. Does that make us vanilla spankos?

Whether my wife is acting as a top or bottom, I like her in lingerie ranging from simple to corsets. When bottoming, my wife sometimes likes to have her hands bound. The bondage thing is more for my wife than for me. At play parties in the past, I liked the excitement of being spanked in front of others. We have also added a bit of anal play at times. Due to our young family, our chances to play are limited and as such mostly are as Hermione put it, "vanilla" which is good too.

Wolfsmate: I have several play outfits I put together from bits and pieces found here and there. They work really good as an "appetizer." Lingerie also puts in an appearance, but I need to build that collection. We are still feeling our way around spanking. Bondage hasn't been considered yet, but maybe later.

Kingspan: One vanilla interest that enhances our spanking fun is drumming. It may sound funny, but the sense of rhythm really seems to add something.

Bonnie: We enjoy a variety of kinks, though nothing particularly extreme. Light bondage intensifies our spanking fun. We also like roleplay, ritual, costumes, lingerie, and a wide spectrum of sexual play. Spanking will always be the cornerstone of our sexual relationship, but we regularly build upon it.

Our topic this week was recommended spanking videos on DVD. Here are your thoughts.

Curtis: It depends upon the viewer's preferences. Shadow Lane's video quality and acting tend to put it at the top of the list and you have the opportunity -- given the many videos they produce -- to tailor your choices to the type of play you enjoy. Clare Fonda has about six sites but none are M/F. I find that anything Audrey Knight does is sexy, because she is, and hers are M/F, F/F and F/M. For themes that are essentially bratting and punishment without being too severe, Punished Brats produces some good ones. I think the person who might provide the best advice on this question is Erica Scott. She knows the field and understands what we like.

JJ: I suggest that you preview clips, if available, before deciding whether a DVD is worth owning. Otherwise, Curtis has summarized it concisely and completely. I'd be surprised if you can't find exactly what you're looking for from a heritage producer of superb quality and production values like Shadow Lane.

Anon #1: Try Moonglow. Their videos are convincing and exciting.

Six of the Best: There is a French movie, called La Fessee. I am sure it is on a DVD. It is an excellent sophisticated spanking movie and one that you would possibly enjoy.

Make Mine Red: These are some nice ideas to check out. Thanks for using this topic, Bonnie! I know that I, for one, don't care to download these things on my computer since other family members use it. I wouldn't want anyone underage stumbling onto something they shouldn't see. DVD form would be great, but don't want to waste money on poor quality. Reviews on sites are deceiving and I value the input given here. So thanks to all!

Em: Like your reader, I'm extremely picky about my spanking videos. I have a hard time shelling out money for a DVD because I am so darn picky and don't seem to like a lot of the stuff that's out there.

I love videos w/Pixie from Punished Brats. I'd recommend anything with her.

If you don't want to download videos, try watching some online, SpankingTube has a wide variety of clips with new things being added every day. The quality varies dramatically, but I've always been able to find something I like.

From Shadow Lane, I've enjoyed these videos:

* Spanking 101 - This is a tutorial, but what I love about it is that they're not playing a role. They're just being themselves and enjoying spanking.

* A Lover's Discipline III - This video has two real life partners in it, and their enjoyment of each other really comes through.

* When Spanking Was in Fashion - This is probably my favorite discipline video of all time. It is very well done with a lightness thrown in that really helps you believe the storyline.

I hope you find something you enjoy!

Jim: The fact that people's tastes vary so much makes recommendation a risky business. I love Maria Beatty's spanking films, but they are very arty and transgessive, and by no means cheap.

Speaking of arty, this is an interesting film sequence.

Daisy: I have never found a spanking video that I thought was believable. They all seem so orchestrated, with bad storylines, etc.

I have watched many clips on SpankingTube and frankly, they all make me cringe!

I don't even know what I'm looking for. LOL But I know I haven't found it yet!

Actually, I found one clip I liked. It was entitled The Anxiety of the Girl Waiting and featured Pixie. It was superb, but it was a clip rather than a proper film.

I loved that clip as well!

Ronnie: I can't be any help. The few I've bought have been totally over the top, unbelievable and we ended up laughing about them.

Anon #2: For Six of the Best, I have La Fessee and it's probably the best of its kind.

Hermione: I haven't watched any and didn't know where to go for good ones, so I am very grateful for all of the excellent recommendations. I might follow up on some of these suggestions.

Prefectdt: Because joining websites is much more economical, I have not purchased a DVD for some time. However, looking through my old collection I would recommend these three producers.

Punished Brats - They provide very good value. Videos offer well produced short plots that do not over-tax the acting abilities of the performers and good, if mostly OTK, action.

Chelsea Pfeiffer - The Chelsea Spanks series is again a good value. There are no plots or story lines, just F/f spanking action with open discussion between two spanking enthusiasts.

Lupus Pictures, especially anything from the Stalin series – These videos have harsher action than the other two recommendations and are a bit more expensive. However, Lupus also makes vanilla TV productions and so has the equipment and production talent available to shoot more involved plots in a professional way. You do have to put up with subtitles though, as these films are made in the Czech language.

Underling: I have nothing to recommend, just an observation that as with any 'niche' market, spanking-related media is expensive in 'hard copy' form.

Thank God for the internet, although I guess it's a double-edged sword for producers because some people redistribute huge volumes of others' copyrighted material for free, and in the worst cases, actually charge for it themselves!

As a die hard F/M fan, I've long loved the Nu West/ Leda films. It's just a shame that since many of them are pretty old, the recording quality isn't so good. Is anybody remastering old spanking films on Blu-Ray yet? :)

Barely Pink: I purchased Shadow Lane's A Lover's Discipline about ten years ago and it remains one of my all-time favorites.

Curtis: If one wants a free copy of La Fessee (which I found very erotically stimulating with the exception of the arm action of the guy who spanks), it can be downloaded. There is a site called Girl Spanking Videos. On that site, on its active topics page (which is the page you would access to get videos), there is someone who posts Old and Rare videos, as he calls them, adding one per day. You can download the videos he posts, but you need the winrar program. In any event, La Fessee (under the name of The Intimate Life of Leon) is on page 31 of his compilation. The compilation has now reached page 44.

Our Bottoms Burn: We don't find much of interest to us. There is one source that I know we would enjoy, MBS Productions. This couple lets you Select A Spanking from their repertoire and they film it for you. Excellent dialog! Worth the money.

One can dream can't one?

I would never suggest that anyone abandon their dreams. But the reality here is very unlikely.

Anon #3: There are usually some fun ones at Spanking Epics.

Bonnie: I'm no expert, but I have a few thoughts. We don't buy many videos, but they can be fun to watch together once in a while. I tend to support my friends and people I know. I avoid videos that depict brutality, lack of consent, or mistreatment of women. I like to have at least some plot and if it's believable, that's a real plus.

I don't recommend purchasing a spanking video (or an implement for that matter) from a sex store. They have spanking videos, but these tend to be produced by porn companies. The quality is low. The price is high. Worst of all, the people who make them don't understand adult spanking.

I wonder if anyone can recommend some high quality spanking DVDs. Have they any favorite titles? I have been looking around, but I'm not sure what might be worth the money. I ordered a video a while back, but I really didn't care for it at all. I thought it was overdramatic, BAD porn. It wasn't cheap and now I'm stuck with it. It would be nice to have some input from other spankos.

The answer to the question is an emphatic YES.  Love Our Lurkers Day is coming back for 2010.  The date will be Thursday, October 21.

For those unfamiliar with Love Our Lurkers Day, it's an annual event dedicated to appreciating and recognizing our silent readers.  The idea is that each blog invites their readership to leave comments.

All bloggers are invited to join in the celebration.  All readers are encouraged to leave comments.  Last year was our biggest yet with 144 participating blogs and 2,627 comments.  It was a lot of fun for everyone and we met many new friends.

We have a few format changes this year.  The most important of these is this announcement.  Rather than sending announcement e-mails to the bloggers in our community (and inevitably missing a few), we are announcing LOL Day to everyone in advance.  Our hope is that this approach will allow bloggers and readers alike to better plan their time.

Recap: MBS Sunday Brunch for Oct 10

Our topic this week was sting versus thud. Here are your thoughts:

Scunge: I went to my first Dungeon last night with My Sir. We bought two acrylic wands (yeah, I know I've said I hate plastic). The thinner of the wands is VERY stingy and I did NOT like it at all. I usually like sting. The thicker wand was extremely thuddy, and reminded me of just how much I LOVE thud! My Sir tends to like to give me stingier spankings. But given how happy the THUD made me last night, I think I see more thud in my future. Oh, and we then bought ANOTHER thick acrylic wand. :)

Barely Pink: I much prefer the thud of an implement, but enjoy switching (no pun intended) from one stingy implement to a heavier one. There is one particular wooden paddle that offers way too much sting for me to enjoy. On the opposite end, there is another paddle that offers too much thud. I like the middle ground: the stingy thud of a thick, well-worn belt.

D prefers implements with sting and zing that make me dance over his lap. But he usually give us both what we want and offers up the strap as reward.

Hermione: I'm not really sure of the distinction. Some stingy implements hurt much more than others, and so do some thuddy ones. But I prefer to start out with a light, stingy implement like a wooden ruler or leather slapper, then progress to a heavier wooden paddle or leather strap for some deep thuds. It's always fun to alternate sting and thud. It keeps my mind from wandering during a spanking.

Dioneo: I tend to stay in the intermediate range. The hand, IMHO, has a nice balance. I'd put it on the stingy side, but with more thud than a belt or switch. For a little more thud, I'd go with a hairbrush. Beyond that, we get a little too thuddy for my tastes.

Daisy: (Sigh...) I think I need to experience more before I make a judgment.

D & S: D dosen't care whether the implement is stingy or thuddy as long as he is using it on my bottom. There is a blurred line between stingy and thuddy. First in line for the stingys is probably the hand, whilst Bonnie's infamous MOAP probably leads the thuddies. I prefer stingys. Thuddies seem to hurt without raising a nice sexy glow. They can leave your bottom bruised and aching for some time, and cause major sitting problems.

Stingys can sting like hell, but they are also arousing and sexy. I just love having a bottom feeling smarting and puffed up, jiggling beneath my skirt, wondering if passers by could guess that my precious rear was hot and stinging! Stingys don't really give sitting problems. However, D loves watching me squirming on my chair when he takes me out after a spanking. Sitting for some time hots up the sting in my cheeks.

Make Mine Red: I prefer somewhere in the gray area, but leaning more towards stingy. Leather straps and belts are my favorites. We have the 15 inch double down strap from Cane-iac. It is by far my favorite implement. This strap has a lot of sting but it's heavy enough for a wee bit of thud. We also have a few paddles and I like the little plastic stingy one the best. It has just a small amount of thud and a whole LOT of sting!

Our Bottoms Burn: We have one wooden paddle that burns deep down while putting a sting on top. You know hours later you have been paddled long after the stingy sensation fades.

Adam: The answer for me varies with the scene or reason for the spanking. The obvious extremes are the cane for a stingy spanking and a large paddle for a thuddy one. I find the thuddy ones are more pleasurable. The cane always bites hard, and leaves the longer lasting feeling for me. My partner likes to cane me, particularly when She thinks I need to be taken in hand.

R Humphries: MBJ and I have discussed this topic many times over the years. Being a refugee from the last great cane generation, the cane has always been my instrument of choice. As a result, she is familiar with a wide variety of whippy sticks of various weights and dimensions. Perhaps because we exclusively engage in roleplay, she likes the cane (likes may be a little deceiving). Getting six of the best adds a degree of reality to the fantasy.

I recently purchased a hand-crafted cane from a New York purveyor of such items. It has the most wonderfully ominous whistle as it slices through the air and makes a wonderfully rotund sound on contact. MBJ reports that it has the highest degree of sting that she has ever experienced, but so far she has not removed it from the toy box.

At the other end of the spectrum, I purchased a Reform School Strap from Raven Hill Studios. It has a long and rather broad leather shaft and a beautifully crafted handle. This thing is the ultimate in thud technology. MBJ has to be bent over a sturdy piece of furniture when I use this bad-boy as she says she feels like it will lift her clean out of her shoes and knock her clear across the room due to its heft. However, despite the explosive sound it makes on contact, she tells me that the after-effects are nowhere near as lasting as the aforementioned cane.

In between, there are various paddles, straps, riding crops and one particular cheap wooden spatula that she says provides the worst sting of all. She always looks a little disgruntled when it is brought into play.

Houston Switch: My toy box is not very large. I have a beautiful boar bristle wooden hair brush from England. It has a convex curve to the wooden side and provides a stinging slap when used with the correct wrist action. I like it at the beginning of our sessions. It gets the bottom warmed up and still has enough energy to get deeper into the bottom for long lasting effect.

The second toy is a wooden paddle. This is the thud instrument. The blows really sink into my bottom and have a very long lasting feel. The third toy which I like to be used last is my resin cane. It will whistle through the air and produce a nice welt and sting even after a very sound spanking from the other two implements. It can carry through the numbing sensation after being spanked by the paddle. It is especially effective after having sex and being turned over to receive a final spanking which always hurts more after the sexual tension/release has been removed.

HAL: Since I am spanked as discipline rather than for play or sex, I rarely 'enjoy' any implement. I can take much more of a thuddy implement than a stingy one. I was surprised that the thin whippy canes hurt me much more than the scarier looking thicker variety.

Bonnie: A perfect spanking, for me, has a bit of each. As others have said, it's the sting that makes a spanking intense in the here and now. Thud makes a spanking memorable hours later. Randy often employs two or more implements on my bottom to maximize both sensations. I can't always make the distinction while I am across his lap. It just hurts. But afterward, I can definitely tell.

Recap: MBS Sunday Brunch for Oct 3

Our topic this week was scheduled spankings. Here are your thoughts.

Abby: Sometimes... LOL We have a maintenance session once a week, but it's not always on the same day. Discipline is usually whenever it needs to be. Long, wonderful play sessions are scheduled so that we both have enough time.

Raven Red: I do schedule my spankings at this stage. This is partially because I found my spanker before I actually met my romantic interest online (who is also a spanker). He is in a different country. I am leaving for the UK at the end of the month to visit.

Due to our work schedules, spanking sessions were scheduled.

When the romantic element entered the fray, all of a sudden, I found myself in a lot more trouble that I am used to. Frankly, up to that stage, there was no one to whom I was accountable.

I still am scheduling the spanking sessions with the spanker I found, but for some odd reason, there seems to be a marked increase in the amount of appointments.

I am convinced that during my month with my new romantic interest abroad, and taking into consideration my remarkable ability to land myself in hot water, I will be wishing that I could still schedule spankings.

Prefectdt: Yes, spankings are always scheduled. Either I have an appointment with a professional service provider or I have to travel to meet up with a playmate. So, by necessity, my spankings are always scheduled.

Tina: Scheduling is often necessary in busy lives. I find the anticipation irritating. Often, for days or longer, I can't concentrate and feel restless. So we schedule a meeting, but pretend it's going to be all boring. That helps me cope!

Hermione: Our household thrives on routines. We plan everything, and that includes spankings. They are always scheduled. Barring unforeseen circumstances, they always happen on a specific day and time. I enjoy the anticipation and the mental and emotional buildup to the appointed hour, and Ron has plenty of time to plan his attack.

The flip side is that we never have spontaneous spankings. Ron doesn't suggest them except when it is necessary to reschedule. If I feel the need for some extra attention in between our weekly sessions, I must say so well in advance to allow Ron to adjust mentally to the unexpected change in routine.

Dioneo: Oh my, yes! For couples with hectic lives, scheduling spankings are a must. For us, if it's not on the planner, it does not exist. The trouble is always how to code it, given the presence of prying eyes. Is it a "performance review" or perhaps a "board meeting?" Bonnie: We have a regularly scheduled time every week. If we have scheduling conflicts, we find a different day and time. These spankings keep us connected and we try not to miss them. Beyond that, though, it's catch as catch can. Serendipitous sessions can be a lot of fun too.
