Bonnie, I wish that Mel was around to answer some of these polls, she has a great sense of humour.
While all the qualities listed are important in a D/s partnership, the most important in my book, and Mel would agree, is Overall compatibility, and that is what I voted.

Geez...you know I wouldn't let anyone spank me without relationship and I won't have relationship without all of the above in my Dominant.
My initial reaction was to vote for overall compatability. I changed that to adaptability. I feel like more than likely if you're in a spanker / spankee relationship / situation, you're more than likely (I suppose not always, though) compatible anyway. So as a wannabe spankee, I think that the spanker being able to quickly and smartly adapt to any given scenario would be my preferable.
Everyone - Imagine that! The spankers and the spankees mostly agreed. I didn't expect that outcome.
Paul - I wish she were here as well, for many reasons. From all you've said I know she would fit right in.
Green - That describes me as well, but many readers have different interests and experiences. I am always interested to see the whole spectrum.
Maggie - I included that option for precisely the reason you describe. With this poll, I wanted to get to the heart of what we value in a partner. I'm not sure it completely succeeded, but the results do provide some interesting insights. Thanks for adding your voice.
This was hard....I think a mix of all of these would really be the best!
