My Personal Delurk Invitation

About six months ago, I participated in something called Delurk Week. The idea was that silent readers were encouraged to say hello by leaving a comment. It was a tremendous success. Delurk Week provided an opportunity to meet many wonderful people who share in this thing we do. Several remain friends to this day.

I think it's time we tried this concept again. To all our lovely lurkers out there in Cyberspace, I invite you to peek your heads around the corner just long enough to let us know you're there. Leave a message. If you wish to tell us about yourself, that's wonderful, but by no means required. I'm not fishing for praise, but if you have constructive suggestions concerning the blog, I'd love to hear them.

Thank you in advance for your participation. I look forward to welcoming you.

Hiya Bonnie,

I've been waiting for the "right time" to post a comment and it looks like you've given me one.

Love your blog - it's one I read daily when I can. I'm a 50-yr-old, separated, spanko wannabe and love to live vicariously through the many talented women here who share their lives with us.

Thanks for sharing, and for the delurk invite!

Lurking? Moi? Well, yes, and I admit that though my own blog isn't public (far too shy) I love reading yours. Master showed me how to organize my rss feeds so I log in whenever you've posted a new thought.

Among the things I like about your blog - humor, the clever thoughts, and your devotion to my second favorite activity.

Keep up the good work!!!

I love being ahead of the game - even if it is only by a smidge ;)

I suppose I can be delurked twice!

I read you regularly and you know that i adore it, my blog goddess!
I only comment when i feel i have something to contribute and i am sure that most of your "lurkers" feel the same.
I know what you mean though, when you look at your stats and compare the number of hits versus the number of comments it does make you wonder just why so many read and leave.
Good idea of yours - it will be interesting to see how many are delurked.
And now i am dying to know what anonymous's (above) number one favourite activity is!
Thanks for all you share with fellow bloggers, readers and lurkers - you're great!
love

I have been lurking on this whole ring for a while now, I comment when something really hits home (LOL get it?) and I am feeling brave. I enjoy your blog very much, it has a great variety and lots of new things to look at. Thanks for the thoughts, I guess I am delurked.

Well I sort of delurked myself here yesterday because I just couldn't resist that list of reasons to be spanked. I've only been reading through all these blogs for about a month now. It's amazing how one blog leads to another and another and next thing you know, you've got your own blog.

Hi Bonnie…………I found your blog and find it well written and full of lots important info for those of us who need an entrance into the spanko world. No I’m not a newbie but one without the right partner. I am single and would not get into any relationship with a woman who did share this interest. anon137@pacbell.net

After reading for a long time I made one comment the other day and asked my husband to read some various things on different blogs. I then got this email from him:

Complexity is right. After more reading I am not sure whether I am more or less confused. Is this a fantasy erotic roll play, the physical response (increased circulation), the voluntary but temporary surrender of control, (and the associated permission to be a wanton hussy), or a true and full time surrender of a submissive? Or is it different things at different times or different things for each individual? Tylenol please!

The answers to his questions are, yes. But I don't know what to tell him now.

Hi Bonnie... You know I'm here, but I probably do't comment enough...
I get so many people reading my blog, and you and a couple more are the only ones who ever comment... I sure wish I could get more people to talk, even if they just say hi!

No, not a lurker, but a blogger that has been thinking of doing this very same thing lately. Perhaps it's time for a de-lurking day!!! I have a couple of very, very loyal readers that have never spoken up. Like you, I would love to get to know them. I don't bite, actually I'm more of a hugger.

I think I'll go lurk some of the folks that have commented here, but I'll be sure to say, Hi to Hidden Flame and let her know how cool I think her avatar is!!

**Hugs**

I'll lurk here later to see how many folks come out of the shadows.

Hi, Bonnie! I have been lurking on and off for about a year now. It started with my research and moved into sheer pleasure. Thanks for such a fun and informative blog!

Bonnie - what a great idea - I must thank you for putting me in your listing of blogs. Since you did I get a lot more readers. Some do comment and it's lovely to exchange views or just to thank them for taking the time out to comment. I love your blog and always slip ideas I find here into mine in an effort to improve it. I've also visited so many other blogs from your list, that I wonder how I manage to read so many (and still cram everything into the day - lol)
Big hugs,
Sky x

Bonnie - well, here I go. Thank you for the invite. I have enjoyed reading your blog for quite some time. I am fairly new to the spanko world so to speak, and relish the chance to come online and read about others who are drawn to spankings in whatever form.

Thank you so much for your charm, humor and willingness to share.

Picked up your blog from two F/M blogs I visit ofen. As a switch, (70% bottom), I think your blog is one of the best. Well writen, up to date, with great info & humor.

I rarely post anything anywhere. I've got to be the king of the lukers. Been lurking SSS for 13 yrs.and never posted once. You ought to be proud to get this one.

As M/F is not really my "thing" I enjoy checking in here and seeing what you've been up to. Keep it up.

Suzy - Thank YOU for being a part of MBS. I'm glad you're here.

Jocelyn - Welcome! Isn't RSS wonderful?

Doc - I'd say you're having a fine week all the way around...

Scarlett - I love my lurkers. Only about one in every fifty visitors leaves a comment. But I know that many of the other forty nine liked what I had to say because they keep coming back. I consider that a silent vote of confidence.

Best of all are these opportunities to to meet some of the quiet folk. Not talking is drastically different than having nothing to say. When I planned this post last week, I knew it would be great.

Eile - Thank you, and welcome!

Eva - Don't I know? :)

John - Thanks, and best wishes in your quest!

Elis - I might consider an answer alongs the lines of "Which would YOU like it to be?"

Hidden - When I started my blog, I was posting exclusively spanking accounts I had written. This was some of my very best spanko material and almost no one was reading it, let alone commenting. I found that really frustrating.

It took two or three months of regular blogging before I built up a steady core readership. Once people started making my blog part of their daily routines, the comments started flowing. I guess that's a long way of saying "If you build it, they will come."

CeeCi - Hi, and here's a hug for you too!

Anon - Thanks. I'm delighted to hear from you!

Sky - You're most welcome. I always appreciate hearing your perspective. You have a vantage point that is quite different from many of us (and yet, sometimes, quite familiar). Thank you for all your contributions.

Shy - It's great to meet you after all this time. You are always welcome here.

Putt - Welcome. I am proud of your endorsement. Thank you!

Mike - It wasn't my idea (I originally heard about it from Bliatz).

Please help yourself!

Jammin - It's a pleasure to meet you. Thanks for the delurk.

Mikki - I love Dan and Bethie. They've always been very supportive. Even now, 15-20% of my traffic comes from their two blogs.

As it turns out, there are quite a few of us spankos. I am glad I can provide validation and inspiration for you and your husband as you move to this next phase. That's a wonderful story.

I wish you all the best, Mikki!

Hi Bonnie, As Suzy said I was looking for the right time to leave a comment. I will be married 18 years this September. He's "vanilla" I'm not. The main reason I lurk is my lack of experience. Finding your blog has helped me understand myself and gave me a way to explain this thing to my husband. Thank you for sharing your experiences, thoughts, and humor. I really have so much more to say but this is enough for my first step out of the dark. Please thank Randy for making your bottom smart!

Hello! I visit your blog every now and then. My name is Linda, and I am also an erotic blogger. I post sexy photos as well as erotic writings. I like your stuff, Bonnie. I'm often too shy to ask others to link to my blog. I love sex of all kinds, and I'm turned on by erotic spanking and BDSM for sure, as well as other women. And of course, men! I wonder, will I ever get the chance to live out my fantasies?

Anonymous said...

HI Bonnie,
First of all, I want to tell you how much I enjoy your writing--even the bad puns!!
Secondly, on a more serious note, I'm sad that Patty is shutting down her blog (Creative Spanko Wench) I think you've mentined her, her writing and her artwork. She so talented that I'm just glad I got to share in her stories and artwork.

I found your blog several months ago and have been overcome with relief! My initial ventures into the Internet world of erotic spanking popped up seemingly endless sites of sexy women and disciplined wives - neither of which matched my interests. But you - I can relate to. You have assured me that my odd fantasies of wanting to be spanked are not so odd. You have given me the confidence to tell my husband about what pleasures me! And to my delight, he is just as aroused as I am by this rear perspective!
Though we can't pursue our playtime quite yet (still living in an apartment), we are about to move into a house and are both more than excited by the prospects! Thank you Bonnie!!

Hi Bonnie, Of course you know I have been participating for awhile. I want to say hi to Mikki, as I think I saw a post of hers elsewhere this week- same theme -feeling relieved she isn't alone. I just want to say - you are not alone at all! There are many women who enjoy their spankings for any and all of the reasons Elis mentioned. I can't remember if it was yours or Patty's site I commented on first. As I found one of you and linked to the other and before long loved both sites. Padme's site too! I am with summer girl - I will miss Patty and am sad I can't see her artwork anymore - but here is to wishing her happiness no matter what!
Thanks Bonnie for getting others to say hi - it is nice to know who I am passing in cyberspace with.

There's only one word to describe your blog...WONDERFUL! I'm a 44 year old woman who recently "came out of the closet" so to speak to my husband of 25 years. It was a spot I could have my husband read to show him I wasn't a complete nutcase. It's nice to know I'm not alone. Even though my husband is vanilla as they come he's trying and your blog gives me hope.

Mandy - Hi! Please feel free to explore as you like. I have about 350 posts and the vast majority deal with my favorite subject.

Denise - Welcome. It's a pleasure to meet you.

Kaya - LOL. If so, I'll be right there beside you. I've been to your blog many times and you're on my blogroll, but I don't recall if I ever left you a comment. In any case, I'm glad you stopped by.

Tess - It's great to finally meet you. This delurk is really wonderful. It helps me to know a little bit about the people who visit.

Linda - Hello! If you want to e-mail me your URL, I'd love to see your blog.

Summer - Thank you. Yeah, the bad puns are just part of the mix, starting with the triple entendre title.

I have to tell you that I didn't know about Patty until I read your comment just now. I'll have something to say about it, but I want to gather my thoughts first.

Anon - That's wonderful! I'm delighted to hear that things are going so well for you.

Mary - I agree. Mikki need not feel alone. There are lots of women from all countries and all walks of life who simply enjoy receiving a good spanking once in a while. Most of us are normal, happy people.

I appreciate your contributions to the brunches and elsewhere. Folks like you make blogging a pleasure.

Yours - Thank you for adding your valuable perspectives. You're always welcome here at MBS.

Diesel Diva - Thank you! I'm pleased that I can help. Best wishes to you.

Bonnie,

I came out of hiding yesterday to participate in the brunch, but I thought I post again to let you know how much I love your blog. I think it is smart, funny, sexy and wonderful. I look forward to the brunches and the 'top ten' type lists, and I love the comments from other readers

I learned quite a bit about from Sunday's brunch. I learned that "kinky" and "vanilla" are not sides of a coin, but points on a broad spectrum. I am grateful to you for posting the question.

You were not looking for praise, hope you don't mind a little.

J - Why, thank you! I aim to please.

I agree about vanilla/chocolate being a kind of continuum. In fact, people may be more or less vanilla depending upon the specific activity being discussed.

Maladickta - I bid you welcome. I'm glad you left a comment, and more so, I'm glad you like the blog.

Magdapio - That sounds like a wonderful exploration. You're most welcome here.

I'm looking forward to more posts in your "Annissa Adores" series. I do something similar (using a much dopier name than yours) and it's been really enjoyable.

Cathy - Thank you. Lurk away as you like.

Busted! Yeah, I've been lurking for a while. I sent a link to your blog to my boyfriend when I decided to come clean about my...tendencies. He rather enjoyed it too, so I owe you a debt of gratitude. Now, I get all the spankings I could possibly wish for...and a few I don't :o) I love the straight-forwardness of your advice/thoughts, and your humor.

Bonnie said...

Gwen - Hi! I'm pleased to meet you. I'm glad you find my blog to be helpful. As you may have noticed, I have a lot of fun presenting articles both serious and silly. Thanks for the delurk, and feel free to join the discussion any time you like.

Bonnie
- been part lurker - part anonymous questions asker for a while.... here's one - that follows last week's Brunch topic - I am thinking about telling my partner to read your blog in order to get her more comfortable with experimentation. She REALLY likes a good 'pinking of her bottom' as part of foreplay. Our one experimentation with 'out of bed' spanking role play did not go well. Didn't go poorly - I just liked it a whole lot more than she did. She wasn't comfortable and relaxed. Maybe a couple of weeks of reading MBS is what she needs...

Bonnie said...

Anon - Welcome! Pointing her to this blog (or another) might indeed help your partner to better understand this lifestyle. But at least as beneficial would be some relaxed time where the two of you can exchange ideas and share preferences. Knowing her desires will help you to find common ground with your own. Unless it has benefit for both partners, spanking (or any other practice) will not be successful.

Best wishes and have fun!

Well, I have been delurked! Bonnie, you run a wonderful blog that I appreciate for being both clever and very well written. Also, I'm not sure whether you were a tri-delt or just own a "souviner" but I think you would be amused to know that instead of the customary pledge paddles of ages ago. Little sisses now decorate and present their bigs with these comical trident shaped "paddles", formidable looking, but never intended for use (pointy edges and whatnot). Thanks again for sharing your gift.

Bonnie said...

Anon - Thanks for the delurk and welcome!

As for those "paddles," I've seen them. Given liability concerns and university zero-tolerance anti-hazing policies, I suppose this is unavoidable. At the same time, I have to lament the passing of a tradition that provided young women with their first very own spanking implement.

Anonymous said...

Hi Bonnie,
You are truely a wonderful gifted writer. I have been lurking for several months now. I am I think about your age, 41, and have enjoyed spanking throughout my 17 year marraige. My husband is not really "into" spanking, but does endulge me completely! I hope your blog lasts forever! I watch it daily. Your stories remind me of ones I used to read in Sassy Lady magazine. I wish I could find back-issues of it. I know I didn't get all of them before it disappeared.
One day I will get the nerve up to become someone other than anonymous!
Thank you again!
