When BAD is Good

Bonnie Appreciation Day? Hey, wait, that's me!

What can I say, other than thank you and you're welcome?

I'm blown away to say the least by this outpouring of well wishes. I love you guys and that's the biggest and best reason I blog.

Happy Bonnie Appreciation Day everyone!
You have done so much for so many without asking for anything in return.
You're an inspiration and your blog is an institution!
Thank You Bonnie!

Thank you for helping those of us who were looking for answers to feel a bit more normal... whatever that is.

Thank you Bonnie for encouraging and supporting our blogs. You were one of the first people to welcome my first post and wish me well.

Thank you Bonnie,

What Joey said! Thank you so much, Bonnie, for reaching out to little unknown blogs and making us feel part of this wonderful community.

We appreciate everything that you do and all that you are. I'll be putting up a list of all the BAD-ers and the message for you tomorrow.

Happy Bonnie Appreciation Day!

P.S. I promise to still participate in LOL 7. ;)

I didn't get a chance to write a post today and that doesn't look like it's going to change, so I'll leave you a sappy comment instead.

You of course helped others find my blog and helped me find others but a couple of those bloggers have become true, real life friends. Without them, this journey we are on would be tremendously difficult. I can't imagine doing it without them to tell me the truth and encourage me. Thank you!

Congratulations.. Am happy to have found you (via Cara Bristol)

Shall be having a good read..xx

As one of my younger blog denizens so aptly put it, you rock, Bonnie! Many thanks for your help when I toddled onto the stage 5 years ago, and I know you've helped hundreds since then.

And, uh, did I sleep through LOL Day again? It used to be October 12, and I don't remember where I was that day.

Anyhow, all the best for a long and distinguished continuation of your long and distinguished career!

We love you too, Bonnie.

A Day of Appreciation is the least we could do for one of the queens of our community. You helped Season and me when we started out just like you have helped many others. Your openness, kindness, unselfishness, creativity, wit and intelligence has been an inspiration to us all. We all aspire to be one tenth, no, one thousandth of one percent as good as you.

Thank you Bonnie. I hope you know how much your friendly visits to our blogs, helpful answers and general insights are both appreciated and useful to sooo many!!

Dear Bonnie,

As you have probably read on countless other blogs, you ROCK! I think BAD is a GOOD idea. Thanks to MrBBSpanker and Ana for organizing the event.

Hi Bonnie,
I've been a lurker of yours for a while and wanted to thank you for helping us when we were looking for answers. It looks like you have a lot of people who love and appreciate all you've done for them too.
Keep up the great work!

Sorry, not sure what happened to my earlier post.

Aimless Rambling said...

and you're the bigggest reason that we blog. So I guess it's a mutual admiration society. Seriously, thanks Bonnie for everything. It's one year this week that I first saw my name "Up there in lights" thanks for that and the support to all of us here in blogland.

Florida Dom said...

Bonnie: I've often called you the Godmother of our community and I think it is so appropriate that we thank you for all you've done to nurture this community.

In my case, you literally changed my life. I was a typical lurker who was convinced by your LOL day to start commenting. One thing led to another and with the help of PK, I started my own blog and you linked to it. That led to me making numerous friends, meeting some of them and finding my good girl. I can't thank you enough and hope you continue to be an inspiration for all of us.

Florida Dom said...

Bonnie: Let me add a followup. You said in your interview that it is inevitable that one day you will walk away from blogging. Say it ain't so. I hope that day never comes.

good evening, bonnie. i drop by everyday to see what's happening in the world of spanking. thanks for being there lots of years ago. i've been into spanking since i was little. i never thought it was weird just had to keep it private. i learned very quickly to keep spanking close to my heart and only let people in who i trusted with my life. thanks

Bonnie said...

Thank you one and all. This has been a wonderful day filled with emotion and surprises. I am still awestruck.

I'm sure I'll have more to say tomorrow, but for tonight, your queen bee, godmother and institution is going to get some rest.

I know I'm a day late East Coast time but not Central,Mountain or West Coast! So even though I AM an East Coaster,I just want to say THANK YOU Bonnie,as with many others yours was one of the first places I found when I "woke up" back in 2008! I had found some other sites that were SUPER squinky, but yours of course was and is not. You made me feel welcome and safe right from the get go. Thank you again, you are a safe haven for many a newbie! Which at some point in our lives we all were. ;)

Bonnie, so good to see you receiving thanks from all over the globe and from every timezone! All thanks deserved, of course. Thanks for everything!

Lea said...

You are deserving of a day. You do so much to bring the blogging community together and get new bloggers notice that otherwise might fade away. Before I had even given anyone the address of my blog, you were the first commenter I had welcoming to the community. Thank you. How on Earth do you locate things so quickly anyway? ;-)

Unknown said...

I want to thank you personly on your own blog. Thank you for all you have done for us on blogland.

It's good to recognize what is well done. It's good to give credit to people who do well as Bonnie. It's great to have a day of tribute to Bonnie. In blogs of Spain, Latin America, Italy and France already recognized since 2006 on 8 August as the International Day of Spanking. Why not International Day Bonnie whose blog has done so much for us all?

Thanks for all that you do, Bonnie, I didn't get on until yoo late yesterday to participate, but I wanted to let you know how much Ward & I appreciate you. You put us on the map & create connections within this community. It just would not be the same without you. Many thanks!

It just gets better and better here Bonnie.
Long may it all last.

I notice some people saying it's late, or too late. It's never too late to say Thank You Bonnie! Many people didn't visit blogland the past day or two that would still like to show their appreciation. So, I decided to leave all the details about Bonnie Appreciation Day up on the ADDS blog How & where it started, links to the pic... everything. And there is a new "button" that links back to this MBS post, so it's never too late to say thank you to Bonnie. This post can be somewhere new people coming along later can come to say thanks when she helps them out like she's helped us all. http://adomesticdisciplinesociety.blogspot.com/

Anastasia Vitsky said...

Yes, it is never too late!! I will keep checking this post, and I will add Thank You Bonnie posts as long as anyone posts them. There is no reason for the BAD to end!

Chief said...

Thank you Bonnie. It's all been said already.

I didn't get a post put up for BAD, but I want you to know that I really do appreciate all that you do for our community Bonnie! I've found others blogs and others have found my blog because of you. So THANKS!!! You deserve the heartfelt outpouring of appreciation! :)

I have so many wonderful friends, and for that I am humbly grateful. I don't know what more I can say. You're the best...

Dear Bonnie

I just had to join this party and support Bonnie Appreciation Day. My first blog had just four followers and you were there for me from the start. That and all the support information found right here has led to a more open and probably annoying Manny. I am usually late for the Sunday brunches but I am still a Lurker just waiting to add my 2 cents.

Bonnie, people in the community have so much appreciation,
for all work you do in the interest of bottom flagellation. :D

Love you,
Ian and LIllie

Bonnie--If anyone deserves to have an appreciation day, it's you. Congratulations! Like so many others, I really felt like I arrived when you picked my mentioned my blog and put up a link to it, along with many other new ones. It's the sort of thing I'll never forget, and "Spanking Minnesota" probably wouldn't still be around if it hadn't been for you.

You gave my blog, and so many others, a touch of appreciation--it's only fair that we return the same to you. Happy BAD day!

Dr. Ken

Your blog is without doubt the tops of the spanking blogs. Many thanks and long may you continue. D & S

Congrats Bonnie. MBS is my first blog to read each week and I get out to others now as well.
Because of you... we your readers, posters and lurkers all feel better, being a part of something really BIG and BAD...
To many more years of blogging and spanking.

Bonnie, Yes thank YOU for all that you do!
Others have said it more eloquently than I already, but you are awesome! Because of you I have found so many "kindred spirits" that it is just amazing to know one is not alone. Your advice for new bloggers is a great resource for any blogger. You were one of the first to find my blog and list me so others can find me (although I seem to be off your list currently). Thanks you agin for all you do for so many others may you be repaid four times over for your generosity of time, advice and good nature !

This is amazing. I feel almost like a lurker on LOL Day. :)

Some you you have asked questions or raised issues that need to be answered. I will endeavor to do so.

Susie - I love your sappy comment. Thank you!

Zaria - It's a pleasure to meet you. Any friend of Cara is most welcome here.

Dev - No, you definitely didn't miss LOL Day 7. It's coming in early November and we'll be making a formal announcement very soon.

Steve and Emma - All this and a delurk from new bloggers too! It's great to meet you both. Welcome to the neighborhood. :)

FD - I'm sorry if I upset anyone by observing that I cannot blog forever. I'm 55 and in good health. The women in my family tend to live a long while. I enjoy blogging and I have no plans to retire. When the day comes that I must step away, I hope to be able to do so on my own terms. Until then, you can find me here.

Lea - My secret isn't very secret. I have a number of Google queries that find spanking blogs.

Enzo - Sorry about that. We removed your link because your blog had been quiet for two months. It's back now.

MrBB and Ana - BAD was certainly a lovely and unexpected surprise. Thank you again.

Everyone Else - For those I have had the privilege to assist over the years, please know that I have been repaid many times over for my efforts. Your continuing success as bloggers and/or with TTWD makes me very happy.

Declaring Bonnie Appreciation Day was a pleasure.
I think one of the nicest aspects, is that BAD did what you've always advocated. The past few days have brought people together and gave everyone an opportunity to show their appreciation. And now it seems new bloggers and readers of MBS will have a place to say,
Thank You Bonnie.
Just wait until next year! lol

Wish you a wonderful weekend
