The Thinking Blogger Awards

My friend, Debbie from Fresh Air Lover, recently awarded me a Thinking Blogger award. Needless to say, I'm delighted because (a) it's a cool concept, and (b) Debbie is one of my favorite bloggers. Had she not already been tagged, she would definitely be on my list.

I am empowered to name five more bloggers who I believe are deserving of this distinction. These are blogs that make me think. I could easily name twenty, but the rules say that five is the limit. Here's my list, in no particular order:

  1. Figleaf from Real Adult Sex - OK, I'll acknowledge that it seems like sucking up to select such a prominent blogger. But if we're talking about people who make me think, he simply has to be here.

  2. Abel and Haron from The Spanking Writers - Clever, insightful, brilliant... Better yet, go see for yourself!

  3. The eight smart, expressive, unique voices who contribute to the Punishment Book - These women, different in so many ways, are united by a common interest in spankings and corporal punishment. Collaborative blogs seldom work well, but this one is superb.

  4. CeeCi from Giardino del Piacere - Her gift as an author is the ability to discuss everything and nothing and somehow make it all interesting and appealing. Her blog is a place of beauty and a source of inspiration.

  5. Vivian from The Disciplined Feminist - As the title suggests, Vivian explores the paradoxes and contradictions inherent in this lifestyle. Always intelligent and often surprising, her perspectives regularly shed new light on old topics.

Congratulations to all these wonderful bloggers (yes, Haron, you get two). Should you wish to continue the chain, here are the rules:

  1. If, and only if, you get tagged, write a post with links to five blogs that make you think,

  2. Link to this post so that people can easily find the exact origin of the meme,

  3. Optional: Proudly display the 'Thinking Blogger Award' with a link to the post that you wrote (here is an alternative silver version if gold doesn't fit your blog).

I hope you'll visit these blogs and discover, as I have, the power of their words.

Wow, thanks for including me in your top five thinking blogs, Bonnie. I'm particularly honored because The Disciplined Feminist is a relatively new blog. I'll do my best to keep surprising you and making you think!

I guess I better go write a new post, since it seems I've got company coming over...

Bonnie! Wow...congratulations on 2 million hits! The first million took a little over a year, the second a bit more than 6 months, does that mean you'll be to three by your second anniversary? And yes, I know this is off topic, but heck how can I resist with that huge number looking at me?

Thank you so much for naming my site as one of the five that makes you think. I'm sincerely honored, flattered and so pleased. You're the best!

ciao bella~

You made a terrific list and I can absolutely agree that you make people think...especially with your Sunday Brunch questions. Congrats!

Paul - Aren't they wonderful? My biggest challenge was to pick just five. There are two dozen more who are also deserving. Hopefully, some of those I selected will pass on this distinction.

Theresa - Thank you!

Ofia - Hi, and welcome to MBS. I'm delighted that you stopped by.

BTW, I just added your link so a few new friends might come to visit.

Viv - You do surprise me. I particularly enjoy how you can bring together concepts and values that might otherwise seem at odds. That always makes me think!

CeeCi - Three million by September? I'm a bit off of that pace, but it's possible.

To be honest, I'm grateful for every day, every reader, and every hit. I try not to gaze too far ahead lest I take for granted all the wonderful blessings I enjoy in the here and now.

It was very tough to reduce my Thinking Blogger list to just five, but, for all the reasons I listed, yours simply had to be there.

Green - Thank you! I love your blog too.
