Back in the dawn of the internet, we Cro-Magnon spankos exchanged text-based messages through crude discussion groups using something called Usenet. It was slow and some messages never arrived. Yes, it was primitive, but it was our first real opportunity to talk with other spankos. We exchanged ideas and experiences. In that moment, it was amazing.
With the arrival of the web, discussion sites, often called forums, started popping up. These were more reliable (mostly), had a better interface, and reached many more spankos. Now people were posting stories and even pictures. We chatted in real time, privately and in groups, via AOL amd Yahoo. We started talking about a community of spankos. Groups formed around specific interests and locales.
Next came MySpace. It's easy to forget how dominant this social media platform was for a short time in the mid-2000s. It gave everyone the ability to create their own page and publish their own content to the world. This concept further evolved with the rise of blogging. Blogger and Wordpress begat Twitter and Tumblr as full length posts were supplanted by micro-blogging. And on we go into multiverse and beyond...
But what became of the humble chat? I learned recently that spanko chat is still alive and appears to be thriving at a site called Discord. When I visited, I found they have 54 servers (their term for forums) dedicated to spanking. Each has a different theme and membership. The topics range from bratting (imagine that?) to various roleplays to spanking chess to serious punishment to all manner of silliness. There are also servers aimed at meeting potential partners, gaming, writers, spanking techniques, littles, wedgie lovers, and furries. Yes, its coverage seems quite comprehensive.
Spanko chess? Really. King's Knight takes Queen's petticoats. This could take a while.
So here's another resource for spankos who want to meet like-minded people from other parts of our big, beautiful, diverse community.

Jillian Keenan's "Kinking Out Loud" server is on Discord. It was my first time using it, so it took some getting used to. Still not quite into it; everything happens so fast. You join a conversation, stop to go to the bathroom, and you come back and there can be 50 new messages. (Okay, I'm exaggerating, but you get my drift.) And keeping up with the threads and the split-off sub-threads is complex. But it is indeed a new and fun way to connect with fellow spankos.
Searched and found discord servers. But searches on there from different pages brought up different and confusing results. Am I visiting the right place? Is there more than one Discord Servers. I noticed that some of the addresses that I visited ended in .org and some in .st .

Erica - I didn't know about Jillian's server, but I will check it out. Thanks!
Prefectdt - Try the link I included in the post. It's a .org domain.
Bonnie -- are you a member of Jillian's Patreon group? Only subscribers to that get access to that server. (I took a $5/month subscription; I figured her content is more than worth it and I wanted to support it.)
Discord? That would have been a good name for the orange one's answer to Twitter :)
I've not heard of it but will try it out. This is good news for your reader who wanted to meet fellow spankos.
Hugs,
Hermione
I had not heard of Discord. Sounds like an interesting and varied forum. Thanks Bonnie.

Roz
Erica - No, I'm not. Thanks for that additional information.
Hermione - It's fun to chat with different people and learn about their kink.
Roz - Discord was a revelation for me. I had no idea.
Thanks Bonnie. I did not realize that the link was there, but I found it in the end.

My goodness. This is amazing. I was there during the early days also and from my perspective, it was once easier to find partners than it is now on these sites, especially CompuServe and shadow Lane. I'd love your opinion!
John
Prefectdt - That's good. I hope you find something of interest.
John - Ah, yes, Compu$erve (as we called it then). Looking back, they gave us a peek at the digital world to come, all at 1200 baud.
Shadow Lane were pioneers within our community. For a time, they were the center of the spanko universe. I recall ordering several of their early videos on VHS through the mail and being delighted by the content and quality.
I am not qualified to comment on the relative ease of finding a spanking partner, but I know others have made the same observation. Erica is trying a site called Spanking Needs. It might be worth a look.
I went to discord and it is aptly named. I simply gave up. It kept asking me if I wanted to add friends! Friends to what? Friends from where? I will look in on it again. Thanks for all your help, Bonnie.
NC - Sorry to hear you had trouble. I don't recall being pestered about adding friends, but maybe I'm just oblivious.
