Thank You!

We interrupt your regular blogging for the following announcement.

MBS passed a milestone today. We just recorded our two millionth hit!

On this occasion, I want to express my humble gratitude to all of my faithful readers. For those who comment and send e-mails, you are the lifeblood of this blog. Without you, I would have abandoned the effort long ago.

As for my lurkers, I know you're out there, and in greater numbers than ever. I still love you and I'm still delighted you show up here every day.

I invite you to stay tuned because there's more spanking yet to come...

I'll put in my two pence worth by echoing what's been said already and adding my thanks for helping me realise that I'm not an aberrant member of a tiny minority. In fact, from what I've read here, I appear to be almost (mind you, I said ALMOST!) benign, although by no means vanilla, as top males go. A few of you ladies - no names mentioned -might even find me positively boring.

Cheers, AnonVII

Congratulations, Bonnie, you deserve it. Your blog clearly serves a considerable need in the cyber community.
For myself I find the combination of humour and serious contant compelling.

Thanks for all your efforts

I almost expected you to say,
"congratulations sir, you are our two millionth reader, we have a special prize for you . . .
if we could just get you to lean over the back of this chair . . ."

Congrats Bonnie, One thing about the internet is that it is truly a marketplace of ideas. No publisher, no advertizing blitz, etc. People come back and read the blog because it's worth reading.

Thanks for that,

Ian

Dear Bonnie,

Congratulations on your 2 millionth hit! Like a couple of the other folks who have posted, I have been a loyal "lurker" (that doesn't sound as benign as I'd like to think of myself as being, but the term de-lurk" is so good I think we have to live with it). I've thought about writing since your last "love our lurkers" day, when my fellow lurkers explained so well why we don't post, but didn't say much about why we *do* keep coming back. I'm sure I'm not alone in being attacted to your blog by the material, yet not knowing whether this world is merely the stuff of hot fantasies for me or real life bliss (being single, I have no real way to check right now...). Like many of you at one point, I had no idea this world existed until I stumbled upon it on the internet.

Anyway, there are a number of reasons your blog is a (the?) particular favorite. I love the quality of your writing, your sense of humor, and your acceptance of a wide spetrum of the community. Most of all, though, I love your real life stories, which reflect an amazing collaboration between you and Randy, with the whole being greater than the sum of the parts. Being in a technical field myself, I have learned not to underestimate the creativity of geeky folk, so Randy's sweet male plans and your responses always make me smile.

Thanks also for being such a great resource for finding other sites on the web. I hope that if (when?) you get tired of all this blogging, you'll slow down instead of stopping. I'm sure I'm not alone in being willing to trade quantity for the quality you provide!

Best wishes,
Loyal Lurker II

ps-- Do you think your "lurkers" are disproportionately female? I'm always surprised to see how many more men respond to your polls than women. Perhaps the best way to find out would be to solicit our help in another bet with Randy, only this time, bring the remote control back into the stakes. Women everywhere (myself included) would take note and vote to end male dominance of TV programming LOL

Everybody - Thank you all for your wonderful words of support and encouragement. Friends like you are the main reason why I continue to publish this blog.

Padme - Thanks, and congratulations in advance to you!

Paul and Tigger - You two have both been here with me day in and day out for more than a year. That kind of support is just tremendous. Thank you so much!

Loyal Lurker II - Thank you and welcome to MBS! I'm delighted that you chose this occasion to delurk. Please feel to participate in any manner you like (or none at all).

As for the stories, I just posted a new one. I hope you will enjoy it.

You make a good point about loving a geek. Those who never have simply don't realize the creative potential that's trapped behind those glasses.

Should I decide someday to phase out my participation, and that's certainly a possibility, I can promise you that I won't lower the quality of the product.

Regarding the proportion of female lurkers, I suspect the poll numbers (60/40 male to female) are probably pretty close.

As for polls and bets, I have learned (rubbing bottom) that anytime there a poll where one particular outcome will result in a spanking for me, a sizable portion of the readers will select it, independent of the merits of the question. The remote is a possibility, but what if I lose...?

Anyhow, that's an interesting idea. I may yet be able to adapt it.

It's a pleasure to meet you and thanks for the comment.

Hi, Bonnie -

I've only recently discovered your site and have been lurking for a couple of weeks; I'm glad I helped you to 2 million!

Thank you for your accounts and especially for your tutorials. My husband (of 17 years) hasn't quite bought in yet. Reading sites like yours together, and talking, is helping us along. I hold out hope!

Of course, any advice you have to give to a reluctant spanker is greatly appreciated. He is worried that reality will not measure up to fantasy, and feels that spanking me goes against his fundamental desire to be a protector.

Thanks for your great site.

Torch - I'm glad you joined us as well. Welcome!

I do have some ideas that may help and I hope to publish them next week. Don't be surprised, however, if they are presented in a lighthearted manner. I find that humor is very valuable in breaking down barriers that might otherwise be difficult to overcome.

As for reality living up to fantasy, it can work the other way too. I have experienced sensations in real life that I could not have imagined beforehand. I wrote a tutorial on this topic last year.

The protector role is deeply engrained in many men (and that's not a bad thing). However, in the case of erotic spanking, this is not something he is doing to you, but rather something you choose to share together for your mutual enjoyment. From this perspective, part of his role is indeed to watch out for your safety and ensure that no real harm comes to you.

I'll have more to say, but these are some preliminary thoughts.

Best wishes in your quest! I hope you'll stop by again or e-mail and let me know how things progress.
