Bonnie, when I was a child at school, the cane and the strap were on open display.
Teachers could and did punish, but only when needed.
In my home the strap and the cane lived on the shelf over the bed, always to hand, there was never any doubt what would happen if rules were broken.
Happy memories, thanks Bonnie.
Hugs,
Paul

Oooooh, we have a paddle just like that!!! We don't hang it up like that, of course. *grin* Instead we keep it in the bedside drawer!!! Love getting spanked with it too, btw!!!

We have 2 bathbrushes that are displayed in the bathroom. *Have yet to use them for their intended purpose though! *grin*

Tracy - In this case, imitation is truly the sincerest form of flattery.

Don - It might be fun to engrave those Latin words on an implement of instruction.

Paul - Your welcome. I'm glad you liked it.

Tigger - A paddle in the bedside table would be mighty handy. As Randy will tell you, you can never have too many toys.

Padme - I just love the way it hangs there by its leather loop. The paddle looks ready for use whenever necessary.

Kitten - You have to love dual use implements you can proudly hang on the well. :D
